“No cat naps are allowed on this dog’s bed”
German shepherds are known to be one of the smartest breeds of dogs. So, there was no way this interloper was going to get away with catnapping on the dog’s bed.
Ivory is a typical German shepherd. She’s beautiful, smart, and very alert to her surroundings. Nothing gets past her and when she sees something that captures her attention, she’s going to check it out.
One day her mom saw Ivory intently staring at something, so she got out her video camera. What was Ivory staring intently at? Turned out that the family cat decided to take a siesta on Ivory’s dog bed.
What was the cat thinking when he tried to sneak a nap? You have to wonder how the cat thought he was going to get away with it. And, to make matters worse for kitty, he is surrounded by Ivory’s toys. Does this also make him a cat burglar?
Ivory then goes to her bed and gives the cat a firm nudge with her nose. It’s as if she’s saying, “you know you’re not supposed to be here.” The cat clearly knows that he’s pushing the boundaries and immediately takes off down the hall.
But Ivory isn’t about to just let it go. She follows the kitty to make sure she proves her point that no cats belong on her bed, especially near her favorite toys. “Go far far away, kitty,” she seems to be thinking.
Of course, even though Ivory isn’t willing to share with the cat, she is very gentle in her demands. She makes her point without hurting the kitty. But even so, the cat has a safe dog-free zone to escape to.
When the cat’s escapade is over, Ivory finally heads back to her bed. No doubt she’s off to make sure that it’s still just the way she likes it and to count her toys to make sure they are all still where she keeps them.
